Sunday was filled with parents and thrift stores and Annie Hall. I've been infatuated with 1970's fashion for a while now, but haven't put many looks together that reflect the decade. I decided to change all that yesterday. To get inspired, I put on Annie Hall and got to work. I even attempted to feather my hair and watched a Youtube video on the subject. The book I'm holding is this book that I bought at Goodwill a few months ago called Don't Let Anyone Steal Your Dream. It's chock-full of cheesy photos and it was published in 1978, so it seemed appropriate.

SKIRT // thrifted
BOOTS // payless
SUNGLASSES // forever 21
NECKLACE // my mom's
Annie Hall is such a good film. Diane Keaton and Woody Allen are brilliant together.

I'm also trying to create a piece of artwork every day to help build up my portfolio so I can hopefully get a full-time job.. I've been doing odd jobs off of Craigslist for almost a year now and, while it's been interesting (to say the least), the income is sort of patchy. Here's the piece that I created today. That's my cat, Coly! I have two cats at my parents house where I'm living now and have been called a cat person on multiple occasions. I like to think that I would be very accepting of a dog, but I haven't had the opportunity to be a dog owner yet. I'm just hoping that I don't wind up a crazy cat lady like the one Indiana of Adored Austin is writing a screenplay about!
your totally channeling 70's vibes with your outfit and hair style. you look great!! i love this cat piece too. my b/f's a graphic designer and he's got a thing for cats which he's kinda spread to me since being together. they're such peculiar animals, and so interesting to be around. guess that's why the Egyptians loved them so much too! this piece is really cool though. i love the repetition and simplicity of it.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with the above comment! Totally 70's vibe! Even before I read what you wrote, I felt that! I love this post!
