I had no idea that Las Vegas had so many vegan options. I passed through good ol' sin city today on my way to Montana. I have a good friend in town named Craig who I was hoping to see, but didn't get to because he was busy.. so I decided to eat a lot of food instead. I'll tell you more about Craig in about a month I pass through Vegas again because there's a good story behind our friendship! I actually passed through Vegas three times this week. I know, crazy.. I parked my car at Craig's (for safe keeping) while I was home in Connecticut..then I went back again over the weekend with a few friends. I was planning on caravanning it - my friends in one car and me following behind in mine. After the weekend ended, I would have driven on to Montana.. but I wasn't fully packed when we left on Saturday, so I had to make two trips! Over the weekend, my friends and I checked out a vegetarian/vegan-friendly restaurant called Red Velvet Cafe. They have AMAZING desserts. Yum.. I want one now just thinking about it!
In the morning, we headed to a Ronald's Donuts. Michelle, who I know from the vegan restaurant that I used to work for, told me about Ronald's. I'm so glad that she did! They have vegan donuts.. which are surprisingly hard to find (the only other place I've ever seen them is at Voodoo Donuts in Portland, Oregon!).. and even more surprisingly delicious!
I spent the night at a hostel, which was really nice! They had wireless internet, so I decided to take full advantage of my parents Netflix account (which I am signed onto permanently on my laptop) to watch a movie. I chose Osmosis Jones. For some reason, I had never seen it.. maybe it came out at a time when I was too cool for cartoons.. wait, that time in my life never happened.
On the way out of Vegas, I stopped at Whole Foods.. the perfect ending to a day of vegan/vegetarian eating. They had one of my favorite Whole Food-sy things.. vegan curry chicken salad. It's hard to find, so I was super excited when I saw that they had it. Viva Las Vegans! Onward to Salt Lake City, Utah!
