february 16, 2011 // colortherapy glasses

Well, I made it back to California.. almost. I'm currently in Las Vegas awaiting a car repair. My car gave out and stopped running somewhere in Utah. I am so incredibly happy that I my dad invested in AAA for our family. I cannot even tell you! I watched New In Town the other night with Sarah and our new friend Jami (I love new friends!) and laughed at the part when Renee Zellweger drove off the road in an effort to avoid hitting a cow and ended up in a huge snow bank with no cell phone reception. After my Utah breakdown, I doubt that I'll ever laugh a that part of the movie again. I'm trying to remain positive as I await the estimate for my car repairs. My time in Montana left me creatively refreshed, but pretty broke. I don't have a job lined up in California yet... so that's something I'm concerned about. Through it all I'm trying to stay positive and hopeful! What helps me do this? Encouraging friends, prayer and my color therapy glasses.. oh. yes.

I bought these babies a few months ago during a contract job as a school photographer. I had to wake up REALLY early every morning and there were some mornings that I just wanted to stay in bed. I saw someone wearing these glasses at a local natural foods store in yellow - the "I can!" color so I decided that I'd better wear a pair for such mornings. Now, I wear these glasses whenever I'm feeling pessimistic and Eeyore-ish. It might just be in my head, but I feel like they work! I mean, how can I be happy when everything looks like a vintage picture of summertime? When I wear them, I feel like I'm constantly in a Hipstmatic photo!

I definitely recommend everyone getting a pair. They don't only make everything around you look vintage... they make you look like you walked straight out of the 60s/early 70s. I can't even tell you how many times I've seen peace sign thrown or had "Hippie!" yelled at me as I walk by. If you want to buy a pair, you can find them on eBay for pretty cheap. I got my pair for something like $15.00, but I'm sure that you can find them cheaper!
