Today I was supposed to head to NYC for Independent Fashion Bloggers' Evolving Influence Conference. For whatever reason, I stayed up way too late the night before last looking at a dating site with my friend Jackie.. weird, I know.. and didn't wake up to my alarm in the morning and missed my train into New York! Fortunately, Independent Fashion Bloggers is home to a very high tech group of people and the entire conference was broadcasted live through the internet! I didn't get to meet Corinne from Threadbanger or Jessica from What I Wore or Tavi from Style Rookie, or any of the other awesome people in the realm of fashion blogging that were there, but I did get a lot of wonderful information.
I am VERY new to this whole fashion blogging thing, so this conference came at theperfect time. I don't have that many readers... (I generate most of my blog hits) ..but this conference reminded me that if I'm going to blog it shouldn't be in hopes of getting a million readers or becoming rich and famous, but because I simply enjoy the process. So, even though I didn't actually go to New York, I wore the outfit I would have worn, got myself some tea and watched the conference from the comfort of my bedroom.
I liked my outfit so much (especially the $5 price tag of my dress!) that I decided to make the most of it and wore it out to play Bingo last night. I've played Bingo a bunch of time, but had never won before. That all changed last night when I won $50!! I played with a few friends at a local temple that holds Bingo every Monday night. My friends and I all really like old people.. maybe too much.. so we were besides ourselves with joy.
